The part about living in France never materialised for a number of reasons: you had children living at home and going to school and later there were the grandchildren. These things were good reasons to either postpone or not realise your dream.
Do these reasons weigh as strongly as they did then? No, because as we grow older the conditions around us change. .

Now the opportunity has come to realise your dream :  LIVING IN FRANCE……. !

The initiators have developed the following plan to accommodate your wish to live comfortably in France. But this is not only for the Dutch, but also for e.g. the French, the English and the Germans .
To make life as pleasant as possible, a number of conditions must be met such as easy accessibility by car, train or plane; the presence of a  doctor, a dentist, a chemist/drugstore  and a hospital, as well as shops in the immediate vicinity .
A beautiful and quiet environment with plenty of opportunities for taking peaceful walks, recreational facilities on the spot, but also a theatre in the direct area are important.
A combination of these  wishes has been found near the village of Escassefort in the area
Lot-et-Garonne in the region of Acquitaine. 
In the neighbouring large cities of Marmande and Miramont, there are large supermarkets and various shops. These can be found in an even greater variety in Bergerac, Bordeaux, and Toulouse located not far from Escassefort. Moreover, the latter three cities all have direct flights to Amsterdam, but also to, e.g. Paris, London, and Frankfurt .

The houses

A Dutch architect has designed three different houses from which you can choose. All houses will be equipped with all modern conveniences (standard), however, you may always “dress up” the house according to your own needs or wishes.
You can also let your wishes be known regarding the plot as these are not all the same size.
To give you an impression, we have enclosed a plan of the available 3 á 4 hectares showing the plots and the location of the houses and the facilities. You can see a swimming pool,
a tennis court and a jeu-de-boule court.

Service Centre

The collectively owned property of the occupants does not only include the entire recreational area but also the service centre.
This is where the administration office is located. Here you will be able to obtain all information and receive answers to all your questions regarding rules about living in France .
Language will not be a problem as all communication will be in French, Dutch, German and English.
In addition, there will be a place where a doctor can perform an emergency consultation. In the neighbouring village there is a GP  who speaks English, French and Dutch.
Finally, there are several rooms for guests  in case you cannot accommodate them for one reason or another.
There is also space in the Service Centre where all kind of activities could be organized.
A service van will also be available for the occupants who wish to make use of  it.

The Objective

The objective of this website is to acquire an idea as to what extent you – without any obligation  – are interested in this project as briefly described above.
In case there is sufficient interest, we can provide further details of this plan and discuss the costs involved. We shall then try to answer any remaining questions you may still have.
Any information provided shall be supplied as detailed as possible at no cost to you..

The initiative takers

The initiators of this, as the French say “ beau projet”, are the recently retired mayor of Escassefort; a notary (public), who will look after all business/financial  aspects; a contractor; a banker, and undersigned, a retired airline  pilot.
The latter has lived and worked as an independent consultant in France since 1994.
